* Kay McMahan-Noska(1948-2004) posted her ggg-grandfather in the GA FGS in Mar 2002. I found the site in Jul 2003 and was trying to find connections to my BROOKS & COX g-grandfathers (I knew they were born in GA). On a whim, I checked the 'Y' box and there was a George Remer YOUNG. My dad's brother was George Reamer Young. I knew my g-grandfather YOUNG's name was James Ellis and his wife was Ioan Marsh. He had a sister, Nancy, who married a man named STRANGE. They had come from Louisiana, just barely 75 miles from where I grew up (Texarkana). I had only been at this about a year and Kay helped me so much. I credit her with the breaking down of that brick wall. I finally knew where to look and I found wills, census', obits, gravestones and NPS Civil War Soldiers and Sailors systems. There was also info at the LDS Family History Center. Kay was trying to find ancestors of George Remer so I am trying to carry on for her.
