Documentation:
* Have copies of several letters written in the 1870's from Samuel back home as well as one from Julia to Barbara Ann.
* Census records played a big part in this research.
* Articles were found in local paper "Henry County Weekly".

Notes:
* Samuel & Agnes lived around the Bear Creek Locust Grove district from 1841 until they died in 1902 within a month of each other. Agnes was living with daughter Barbara Ann and Samuel was living with the "Arvie" Smith family. He owned about 300 acres of land that was sold to settle his estate. Samuel spend quite a lot of time "scouting" in Louisana since daughter Julia Amanda lived there.
