* Thomas Bradley (b. 2/18/1792 Jackson County; m. Susannah Oliver Allen 2/8/1821; d. 3/25/1858 Walton County) was an Indian fighter, a veteran of the War of 1812, and a Baptist Both he and hi wife are buried in the Bradley Cemetery near Campton.
* Susannah (b. 8/4/1802 North Carolina; m. 1st William B. Allen, 2nd Thomas Bradley; d. 8/12/1885 Walton County) was the daughter of Elijah (b. 1781 Virginia; d. 1854 Jackson County) and Mary Wise Oliver (b. 1779 North Carolina) She was sometimes called Susan Her first husband, whom she married April 24, 1817, died March 15, 1819, leaving her with one child, William
* Immediately after their marriage, Thomas and Susannah Bradley lived in Clarke County, but constructed the original Bradley home in Walton and moved there in March 1822.
* Their children, all of whom were born in Walton County, were:
(1) Mary A. E. R. (b. 12/24/1822; m. Madison Jamison 12/16/1838)
(2) Sara H, *b, 3/2/1825; m. F. Hale 12/6/1841);
(3) Francis Marion (b. 11/7/1827; m. Stiry Camp 4/29/1851; d. 1/19/1863 Virginia);
(4) Amanda T. (b. 2/8/1830; m. James F. Breedlove 2/25/1847; d. 1915 or 1916);
(5) Susan A. (b. 11/21/1831; m. John F. Robertson 2/12/1852);
(6) Nancy E. (b. 7/31/1833; m. Augustus Smith 1/29/1852);

* F. and Sara J. Bradley Hale's children were William, Robert, John, James, and Lucy Those of Francis Marion and Stiry Camp Bradley were Amanda J. (d. young), Mary (b. 1854), and Thomas Russell (b. 9/1857; m. Angie R. Flanigan; d. 9/1898) James F. and Amanda T. Bradley Breedlove became parents of Amanda, Susan, Joel, Thomas, James, John, George, and Luticia. J. J. N. and Eliza F. Bradley Kennedy's children were Susan and Joseph. James M. and Mary Lochlin Bradley were parents of Oscar, Mollie, Sallie, Samuel, Thomas, James, and Rhodel.
* Elijah O., son of Thomas and Susannah Bradley, lived only 17 months and was probably the first member of the family buried in the Bradley Cemetery His grave is between that of his father and his brother Francis Marion
* The latter enlisted for Confederate service August 13, 1861 He served as a junior lieutenant and died of measles and exposure in camp near Fredericksburg
* His younger borther James M., just released in a prison of war exchanged and recovering from wounds, accompanied Francis M.'s body home James had bben captured in the battle of Malvern Hill
* Their brother Thomas J. enlisted in the Confederate army July 17, 1861, and was killed at Gettysburg He is buried there.
* Thomas J. Bradley, the father, owned 600 acres of good farm land surrounding the home site near Campton in 1852 He treated his slaves well, and long after they were freed they returned to be buried in the Bradley Cemetery Twenty-three are mentioned by name in the appraisal of his estate after his death Among his personal property noted by the appraisers were nine feather beds and steads, a rifle gun and shot bag, two spinning wheels, 16 head of sheep, a lot of books, two side saddles, and 21 pieces of bed clothing In a sale of the property, the Negroes alone brought $17,672.89
* Thomas and Susannah's son James M. bought the home and land He built a new home on the family property only a short distance from the original home and took his mother to live with him and his family until her death at 83.
* Thomas and Susannah's grandson Thomas Russell Bradley became the father of (1) Russell L. (b. 11/13/1877; m. Eliza Wilson); (2) Jennie Alms (m. Bob Etheridge); (3) Elijah Marion (b. 11/6/1880; m. Susie Etheridge); (4) Luther James (b. 2/9/1883; m. Esther Fowler; d. 4/4/1954; (5) Alvin Edwin (m. Mage Wages); (6) Susie Stiry (m. Vester Sikes); (7) Loutishie (m. J. L. "Bud" Norris); (8) Thomas Monroe (b. 10/9/1892; m. Daisy Ethel Williams; d. 5/1/1955); (9) Maybelle (m. Louis Wages); (10) Cline Lloyd (m. 1st Esther Etheridge, 2nd Marie Phillips).
