Documentation:
* There was a divorce involved at some point on John and Frances evidently after 1855. I know this because the 1880 Butts County Mortality census reflects that John died in Sept 1879 and his marital status shows "d".
* No one had been able to find a census after 1850 Monroe County, Ga on John, however in 1870 we find Frances (Frannie) in the Bear Creek District of Henry County with several of the children. She was listed on the 1870 and 1880 census of Henry County (Bear Creek).
* John wrote a couple of letters (have copies) written in 1862 to Henry Bluford in Richmond, Va but no mention of the family breakup.
* My questions on Jason BLISSIT I believe I have figured out (thanks to cousin Elsie RAPE) "This Jason BLISSETT private July 8, 1861, died at Savannah, Ga January 9, 1862".
* Elsie had a letter from Elisha W. BLISSETT(sic) written Oct 21,1861 saying "I have not heard from my brother in northwestern Virginia, sorta west of me". When you check the records of the 13 Ga Infantry, they were originally in West Virginia then restationed to Savannah, Ga. arriving Jan. 1, 1862.
