* In Chester County, S. C. I can find no records of Elisha, only father, George and brothers Reason (born 1780), and Benjamin (born 1790) and Stephen (born in Md. 1772).
* Under date of 3-4-1808 I found Elisha and wife Nancy witnessing a deed in Jasper County, Ga. Next record was 1820 census of Walton County, Ga. The wonderful records of Butts County (est. 1825) Jackson courthouse houses a first, estate settlement of Elisha (died intestate) This file is very lenghty but was the only way I could get childrens names. Butts county Superior Court across from the courthouse revealed Elisha's real estate transactions shortly before his death. Brother Stephen and Benjamin moved to Pickens County, Al. in the 1830's. George's other sons and daughters had left South Carolina by 1810 and took up residence in Hart & Hardin County, Ky.
