Florida Death Certificates. Cemetery Records of Baker County, Florida. Mr. Elijah "Lige" Walker was a woods foreman for the Southern Resin and Chemical Company. He and his family lived at Pine Top which was located west of Glen St. Mary, Florida. They located there in 1945 after living in Lake City, Florida. Mrs. Walker owned an operated a woman's clothing and apparel store in Macclenny, called Karelle's Town Shop. This business was started in 1962 and at the time was the main store for women's clothing in Baker County, Florida. Mrs. Walker was one of the more successful business women of Baker County. She retired and sold her business around 1989. Her husband retired from Southern Resin and Chemical Company around 1975. After retirement, the couple built a home in Glen St. Mary, Florida. Mr. Walker died in 1981 and Mrs. Walker continued to live at her home until her death in 2008. Both were Democrats and attended the First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary, Florida. Mrs. Walker at the time of her death was the oldest continous member of the First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary, Florida having joined around 1946-1947. This couple have five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
