(12) Family oral history states that Dolphus died from a snakebite.  He
was a rail boss for the railroad.  While he was working in a ditch
repairing a railbed, a Water Moccasin crawled into his boot.  He was
unable to remove the snake before it bit him several times. His place of
death shown above is only an assumption. If he is buried in the Kosse
Cemetery, it is in an unmarked grave.  A thorough survey of cemeteries in
the surrounding area has also been unfruitful.
