Folks Huxford's Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia Vol. I, IV, VII. Huxford's Vol. IV, page 222 stated, " Mr. & Mrs. Obediah Osteen were members of Jones Creek Baptist Church in Liberty (now Long) County, Georgia. Obediah Osteen died about 1818. Mrs. Osteen remained a member until 1826 when she removed with all her children except Ailsy Osteen Chancey to Ware Co., Georgia , then soon after to Hamilton Co., Florida. James Osteen and two of his sisters later became residents of Suwanee County, Florida. .
