* Edward Pendergrass was a Methodist Minister and was later elected Bishop of the Mississippi Conference and served there from 1964 to 1972. In 1972 he retired and moved to Lakeland, Florida where he served at Florida Southern College as the Special Assistant to the President of Florida Southern College from 1972 until 1989. Mr. & Mrs. Pendergrass were assisted in cared by their granddaughter Katherine Miller Burnett until their deaths.
