* Charles Newmans and his wife Ann are thought to have married somewhere around Tattnall County, Georgia. He served in the Seminole Indian Wars in Florida. He was in Florida by 1850 and had received bounty land due to his war service. He was most likely dead by 1860 since he did not appear in the 1860 Census with Ann and his children who were living in Alachua County, Florida.
