Note: Baker County was created out of an area that had formerly been Columbia County, Florida. The Combs family had been in the Sanderson, Florida area when it had once been Columbia County and then was changed to New River in 1860, then Baker County in 1861. George Combs married Martha Raulerson on April 15, 1857 in Columbia County, Florida. There were no children from this marriage. Martha Raulerson Combs received a widow's pension based on George Combs service in the Second Seminole Indian War. He served as a Private in Captains Walker, North, Haddocks, Birds Florida Mounted Volunteers and a 2nd Lt. in Captain Williams Company Florida Volunteers from 1837 to 1840. Martha Raulerson Combs was awarded the pension based on her husband's war service on March 6, 1895. Martha Raulerson Combs died April 26, 1911 in Baker County, Florida and is buried beside her husband a Cedar Creek Cemetery, Baker County, Florida.
