Both of their residence and Sallie Holt was listed as 301 East 3rd Street. The 1900 registry showed that Clarence & Estella had a Quick Lunch business at 3 East 4th Street. The 1909 City Directory showed it turned into the Holt's Stag Hotel & Cafe at 5 east, 4th Street. This business at this location was thriving up to 1946. And sometime was merged with the next door building. On page 850 of the 1930 Wilmington City Directory, the Holt's American Holtel was listed with other Wilmington Hotels with an address of 5 east 4th Street. During my research I found a 1924 phone number for the Quick Lunch Parlor of 265. One of the first in Wilmington. A great deal of the Holt family worked off and on for Clarence at the Hotel when times were bad. According to the 1920 Census at the Delaware State Archives, Clarence & Estella lived at 502 West 22nd Street, Wilm, De., Vol 5, E.D. 111, Sheet 2, Line 44. Also Estella's Sister Laura V. McKay was living with them age 52. Clarence re-married Anna C. Fleming who worked at the hotel. All information obtained from Delaware Public Archives, Hall of Records, Dover, DE. 19901., Birth, Marriage, Death records, Delaware Census records 1860 thru 1930, Wilmington City Directories 1855-1940, Tatnal Tombstone Records, Probate Records, and Cemetery records.
