NOTES: At
sometime the O' was dropped, from O'Hanlon, possibly after the family migrated
to America. It was stated that in Chicago, the Irish were classed as scum,
so they may have thought Hanlon didn't sound too Irish. It was related
the twins were born in a castle and a research trip to Ireland, by a descendant
of Mary O'HANLON's, found information concerning the O'HANLON's and Glenquin
Castle "on the Kerry side of Limerick." Bridget O'HANLON had a picture
of the castle where she and Ellen were born and my Mother, Emma May (STEVENS)
NOLAND remembered seeing the photo and hearing the stories from her grandmother,
Ophelia (HEATLEY) STEVENS when she was a young girl and in her growing
up years.
