Documentation: 1. 1850 census Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co., NY lists
Calvin LEWIS occupation as shoe maker.
2. According to census records Nathaniel LEWIS was a music teacher
and
brother Miland LEWIS was a voice teacher. Miland later ran the
hotel
of
his late father-in-law.
3. According to census records the only census in which Betsey
and Nathaniel resided together was 1860 Stockholm, St. Lawrence Co.,
NY.
Miland, age 15, lived with them. Subsequent census
records, where available, showed Betsey living with her parents
and her two sons. Nathaniel, when he could be found, was living
variously with Miland, in a boarding house, and possibly with his niece
as late as 1920.
