NOTES:  Hezie PALMER joined the Arkansas Infantry at the age of 14 and 
served for the last year of the war. Both he and his second wife, 
Mattie, received pensions from the State of Arkansas for his 
C.S.A. service. As an adult, he worked as a farmer, blacksmith, 
wagon maker and sewing machine repairman, and was a much loved 
Methodist Minister. 
Most of the children in this family were probably born in Miller 
Co (Lafayette Co for the earliest children) however, family 
movements make it difficult to ascertain which ones actually were. 
Members of this family are buried at Concord (Skelton) and 
Independence Cemeteries, P.O. Fouke, Miller Co AR, with the 
exception of Ellen (PALMER) CLARK, who is buried at Corinth 
Cemetery, and Laura Virginia (STEWART) PALMER, William H. PALMER 
and Hattie (PALMER) HARWELL, whose burial places are unknown by 
this researcher.
