PALMER birth: ca 1861, Lafayette Co AR married: marriage: other marriages: death: NOTES: The western line between Marion Co AL and MS was confused at the time the PALMERs lived there, hence the uncertainty of birth places. Benjamin may have served in the C.S.A. There are four men by that name in the Arkansas muster rolls. One can be eliminated out of hand due to details in his service jacket. Whether this Benjamin is one of the other three is difficult to determine. Benjamin homesteaded property abutting Lynn Ferry Road between Texarkana and the turn-off toward Boyd. He built a blacksmith shop there and was probably responsible for his son Hezie learning the trade. Marguarette and Nancy Jackson PALMER were probably named for their maternal aunts, Marguarette and Nancy J. HAMETER.
