NOTES:  W.J. BRAND's Civil War pension application contained full names/birthdates
& locations for himself & his children and maiden name of wife/ marriage date/ location.
Death dates for Wm. J. & Sarah A. are from family records and I question that they both
died on 23 Nov. - only the years are on their stones. Other death dates were found on
tombstones in cemeteries listed and death certificate of William Madison BRAND. Marriage
records found in Boone Co courthouse. Other sources were census records and family
members.

Sarah Priscilla and Mary Elizabeth LEWIS were sisters.
