I have cited where the marriages are from except for William and Winnie. Their date is from the family bible. Info from Pope County, Arkansas census, marriages and cemetery records. Joe Brewer of Harrison, Boone County, Arkansas gave me the information on the family of Sarah Ann Lucinda and Samuel Kilburn. Samuel is buried in Western Grove Cemetery in Newton County, Arkansas. I suspect that the two oldest Bowden sons, George and John, both died in the Civil War and are probably buried in a mass grave. I have never found this family in the 1850 census either in Lawrence County, Tennessee or Pope County, Arkansas. Family history states that they moved to Pope County before 1850. According to the census, H. N. C. Bowden was born in TN in 1849 and Lucinda in AR in 1851. They all were in Pope Co. AR in 1860. In 1870 census the entire family except for the family of Nancy Jane and James Austin were living in Searcy Co. AR. either in Calf Creek or Richland Townships.
