Bowden page 213. This article states that he and Salina Lay had six children, two of whom were alive when this article was written. These two would have been Mary Reynolds and James Taylor Bowden. I have an obituary written by Rev. John Wesley Bowden, a nephew of Jackson J. Bowden at his death. Jackson J. Bowden remarried after the death of Salina to Narcissa E. Bewley on 12 Aug 1852 in Pope County, Arkansas. Goodspeed's history said they had 10 children, three of which died in infancy. Robert Sanders Bowden's second wife was Mary Roberts who he married on 15 February 1914 Book K page 60 in Pope County, Arkansas. Charles Dotson Bowden's second wife was Mrs. Letha Arnold who he married on 27 November 1910 Book J page 3385 in Pope County, Arkansas. Anhana C. Bowden's second wife was Mollie Kinder who he married on 09 October 1889 Book F page 421 in Pope County, Arkansas. They were living in Duncan, Oklahoma when they died. I have the death certificate for George A. Bowden and it lists his wife as Ruth. I don't have their marriage date, but it could have been in Texas. He was in Cherokee County, Texas in 1900. Miles E. and Cora Bowden were living in Cherokee County, Texas in 1900 and in Red River County, Texas in 1920. I have received information on this family from Reva Housley of Atkins, Arkansas and from Randy Duvall of Russellville, Arkansas. Both of them are descendants of Jackson J. Bowden. Randy and his wife, Kathy, placed a new marker on Jackson J. Bowden's grave in 2005 after finding the old marker was broken in four pieces. They also repaired the old marker, but are not sure how long it will stay together.
