22 Nov 1864, Isaac joined at Cadron Mills Arkansas, Union Army, Company G, 3rd Ark 
Calvary at Lewisburg, Ark, by Lt. Dacus.
 
1870 Census, Searcy County Ark, Big Flat township, Marshall Post office. Enumeration 
numbers 54/54.
 
1871, Apr 24 Isaac W. Baskins purchased land in Stone County, Ark. Township 15, Range 
13 West, Section 8.
Homestead Application No. 4483. On 24 Jan 1878, Land office at Harrison, Ar. R. Sisk 
and W. H. Ramsey, sworn that they had known Isaac for 7 years. He is Head of a family, 
consisting of a wife and four children. Isaac entered upon and made settlement on said 
land on 14 Apr 1871, and has built a house. He has lived in the house from that date to 
the present.  He has plowed, fenced, cultivated about 6 acres of said land, and has 
made the following improvements thereon: one dwelling house, smoke house, cribs and 
stables, and a small peach orchard.
