NOTES:
Benton
County was changed to Calhoun county in 1858. Later Cleburne Co., was formed
in 1866 from Calhoun, Randolph and Talladega Counties. The family may not have
even moved to be in Benton co., in 1850, Calhoun in 1860 and Cleburne in 1870.
According to the Cleburne Co., Heritage Book, Sarah ELLIS was the mother of
Sitha/Sithy TENNISON, who married John Thrower. Which lends credence to the
fact that Sarah/Susan remarried to Benjamin Ellis in 1858. It also states that
Sitha's father was Mathias Tennison.
Thanks to my "cousins" Julie and Earlene for the sources and the notes on the
TENNISON's. For more information, please contact marykell@aol.com.
